Remember when the match was lit. Remember when the taste of fire was tangible? Remember you said, “Anything can happen when kerosene’s involved.” Remember the scent of feathers singed? Remember when the frazzled wings carved constellations into the night. Remember the second the sullen eyes made contact with ours? Remember the squawks sounded like birth.
